Cerean Planetary Alliance (CPA)
The Cerean system in Sector 001 is the heart of a vast mining collective. Born out of Ceres, in the early days of the Earth Empire, as it slowly tightened its iron grip on the solar system, the Cerean Alliance used what meagre resources they had to flee on a generational ship to reach distant Arcturus, where they worked to harvest the riches of their new system and fight off the encroachment of the vast Earth Empire for centuries. Arcturus - now renamed New Ceres, became the centre of a new mining empire and the Alliance’s mineral wealth and capital fostered great mining fleets contracted out to the Earth Empire, and the tale of the belt-born continued for generations. With the collapse of Earth, the Cerean Planetary Alliance has been able to expand beyond their historic borders, having successfully colonised their own worlds, they now strike out at the wider galaxy and have colonial worlds spanning four sectors.
The CPA is a militarised dictatorship and technocracy. The people are bound by clan loyalty, rigid hierarchy, and the belief that endurance through labour is humanity’s highest virtue. The state is ruled absolutely by the Master of the Veins and the Iron Hand Directorate, a council of generals and guild lords that deliberates collectively but obeys without question once a decision is struck. The centrally planned economy wields a powerful industrial war machine when needed. Represented on the galactic stage in Sector 005 by Grand Admiral Isolda Oremaster.
