Proxima Federal Republic / Proxima (PFR)
With their capital on the Core world of Proxima, the PFR is a major player in galactic politics with significant colonial assets across settled human space. Proxima is a parliamentarian liberal democracy, with a planned economy. The Proximan Federal Republic Navy (PFRN) maintains the most advanced and sophisticated military forces in known space. Proxima is a major rival of the Terran Federation and seeks to limit Terran expansion and domination into the Colonial Sectors - primarily through the formation of The PACT, an interstellar diplomatic alliance of democratic polities. Proxima is known for its role as the first world to secede from the Earth Empire, accelerating its decline and collapse. The current Prime Minister is Svetlana Johnsdottir, and the Sector Governor is J. Osskarsson, supported by the Agent of Parliament - Commissioner Shigetaki.
