Vertinia Commonwealth (VCW)
The founding of the Vertinia Commonwealth dates back to the early colonial expansion stages of the Earth Solar Alliance, before it became the Earth Empire. Vertinia, the homeworld of the Commonwealth, was left to its own devices by the Earthers, on account of issues with the planet’s ecology in the form of a toxic mist creating seasonal instability and mystifying both terraformers and xenobiologists alike. With the incessant civil wars and eventual decline of the Earth Empire, Vertinia expanded from its small corner of the Sector 001 and now maintains colonies across three Colonial Sectors. The rigours of ecological issues forced Vertinians to carefully manage their resources, and organise their economy, society and growing colony worlds according to eco-socialist principles. Iona Brambleforth is the current Archon of the Commonwealth in Sector 001, VCW Sector 005’s governing body comprises Exarch (Chief) Aylen Winterglow and Exarch Nina Silverleaf.
