MORLANA HEAVY INDUSTRIES LOOK TO INVEST IN SECTOR 005
GNN spoke with Morlana corporate representative Soller Karn yesterday about their new plans for the sector, as part of a special investment conference on New Berlin this month.
“We’re working with communities across the sector to create a better future for everyone. War is both a tragedy and an opportunity for a generation of new and better worlds, powered by Morlana Heavy Industries patented technologies. Where you may see a bombed out city, we see cut price real estate, upon which we can construct a brighter future for everyone, and our share holders. To many, Sector 005 is a colonial fringe backwater, but we see it as part of a new beginning for us all - and you can be a part of that too.”

PROXIMA REPUBLIC RAID TERRAN COLONIAL CAPITAL
Proximan forces struck the Terran colonial capital of Felgor this cycle in what the Proxima Federal Republic describes as a ‘limited operation’. While it may or may not be a limited operation, the wider political ramifications are serious for the stability of the sector and galactic tensions. PFRN Squadrons Vanguard and Valiant moved to engage a defending Terran battle squadron, which was supported by several flights of interceptors stationed aboard Felgor’s fleet repair yards. Sustaining heavy damage, the Terran squadron was forced to admit defeat and withdraw to the system’s M25 limit, as Proximan forces then destroyed the repair yard and remaining military orbital infrastructure.
Emerging from stand off range shadowing Felgor’s small moon, a PFR Ground Force Division initiated assault landings on the colony and proceeded to degrade colonial administrative infrastructure, damaging civic institutions and arresting members of the local colonial administration. Several leading members of the Terran civilian administration are unaccounted for, with limited casualties despite the scale of the operation.
In a communiqué to the sovereign powers of the sector, the PFR have presented the raid as a measured answer to the Skaro Pact’s war against the LGR, citing the attacks on Reason and Amity. The Republic said it had set out to inflict damage on the Pact’s colonial administration matching the civic harm done to the LGR, and stressed that civilian and corporate infrastructure had been deliberately spared. Proximan officials accused the Skaro Pact of believing it could dominate weaker neighbours with impunity. The PFR described the operation as only a small part of the Republic’s capability.
The Proxima Federal Republic released the following statement to GNN following the attacks:
On stardate 2602.174, the Proxima Federal Republic launched an operation to counter the actions of the Alarian Star Empire and the United Terran Federation against Le Grande Republique. In the last year both factions have formed an alliance called the ‘Skaro Pact’. From this, Amity Station and Reason have been attacked with demands of territorial concessions bringing instability to the sector. Noting the precedent set recently by the Skaro Pact when it launched an unprovoked war of choice we have decided to follow their lead and give the Skaro Pact the opportunity to share in this experience.
Meanwhile, Terran forces invaded the LGR world of Unison causing significant civilian casualties. The Terran Federation Navy executed orbital strikes on civilian centres and have damaged infrastructure across the colony. The colony has declared an immediate state of emergency and requested international humanitarian support. It is understood Terran ground forces are engaged in heavy street to street fighting. Stay tuned for more information on this unfolding situation.

FREE COLONIES FIFTH FLEET RAIDS GLORIANA
The Association of Free Colonies has struck targets over Gloriana. Alarian Imperial Navy warships under repair from their recent combat operations over Amity Station were destroyed whilst at their moorings over Gloriana, the Imperium’s colonial capital, following a raid by AFCO’s Fifth Fleet.
At least one capital ship, the Hammer of Alaria, along with her escorts, had fled the colony for the M25 after detecting the incoming squadron. Two capital ships currently out of commission, the ISS Conqueror and ISS Indestructible II, in the repair yards at the time were not so fortunate and were destroyed in the attack.
Two Cerean Planetary Alliance battle squadrons were undertaking exercises in the system when the attack occurred. The CPA’s 6th Arcturus Battle Squadron, detached from Sector 8’s Third Guard Fleet, arrived in Sector 5 to join the 4th Orehammer Battle Squadron for EXERCISE OBSIDIAN SABER. GNN can report the CPA formation challenged the AFCO fleet on its approach and moved to intercept, firing a warning shot as the AFCO squadron launched a devastating bombing run on the imperial repair yard. CPA vessels and defending colonial pacifiers fired upon the AFCO warships causing significant damage, who finding themselves outnumbered burned a retreat for the M25 limit. GNN’s S5 war reporter Dezsovo Mondák, speaking on talkshow The Daily Politics yesterday noted analysts suggest the Free Colonies ships would have detected the Cerean battle squadrons on their approach and judging by their actions, did not consider CPA an aggressor until it was too late.
Sector President Tang addressed the citizens of AFCO last night in a special televised holo-address following the attack. In the statement, the Sector President threatened Alarian forces, stating the ‘Fifth Fleet could turn the surface of Gloriana into one resembling Reason’ and that the Association of Free Colonies does not see Alarians as their enemy, rather, ‘as their friends’. Tang stated, “We are enemies to the Alarian Empire, not the Alarian people’.
Alarian news channels and media outlets celebrating the actions of the Alarian Navy over Amity Station were quick to condemn the attacks in the strongest possible terms. Alarian holochannels broadcast 24/7 footage of the destruction wrought upon the squadron and fleet repair yards, with Alarian holo-tv anchors interviewing families of casualties quoted as saying “Let me tell you something. My brother was on the ISS Conqueror, and I say kill them all!”
This dark new turn compounds wider events across the sector, signalling a dramatic reshaping of a sector in crisis. With Alarian naval forces effectively neutralised and a new front in the war opening up, peace in our time seems a distant hope at best.

TERRAN FEDERATION FORCES INVADE UNISON
Terran forces invaded the LGR world of Unison causing significant civilian casualties. The Terran Federation Navy executed orbital strikes on civilian centres and damaged infrastructure across the colony. The colony has declared an immediate state of emergency and requested international humanitarian support. It is understood Terran ground forces are engaged in heavy street to street fighting. Stay tuned for more information on this unfolding situation.

CONVOYS ESTABLISHED AS PIRATE THREAT SURGES
Freight hauling firms operating across Sector 5 met on New Berlin colony this month in response to escalating pirate attacks across multiple systems. Assembled corporate representatives of the main interstellar haulage and freight companies agreed to establish a convoy system on several major routes. Representatives, after much deliberation, agreed to fund a limited private security escort for the convoys, GNN reports.
Since the attack on Rakshasa two years ago analysts have been working to map and identify the new patterns of pirate attacks. Leading expert on interstellar piracy and trade security and Director of the SaferStars Initiative, Professor Y’ah Mee-Hartese, suggests we are likely witnessing the development of new pirate groups taking advantage of distracted military forces across the sector, usually deployed for anti piracy operations.
Meanwhile, the newly established CPA-backed Livingstone Mining & Trade Federation (LTF) has begun work establishing a new HQ on Hades IV. The LTF has announced detailing trade route protections as an urgent task of the new interstellar trade authority.

MONOKOKE COLONY REPORTS ‘ZOMBIE’ WILDLIFE
Rangers at the Bill Oddie Memorial Wildlife Reserve on Monokoke have recorded strangely afflicted wildlife. Local colonial officials appeal for international scientific support. Whilst the Endaron Governing Authority (EGA) and other authorities on the planet have now completed the full scale evacuation following the Bionid incident on Andor, holonet influencers from across the sector have descended on Monokoke to capture footage of the wildlife.
Ziv and Glimmr holonet posts from the wildlife reserve show various imported terran species afflicted in various unsettling ways, from ‘frankenstein rabbits’ with horn-like growths, to deer with fleshy protrusions. Wildlife rangers have warned local influencers and other visitors to refrain from visiting the reserve at the current time.

ANDOR HIVE ELIMINATED, REPORT SILK-SNG
Under the joint command of SNG Fleet Commander Phillis Beren, the SILK 1st Squadron Taffetarion and the SNG Mah’alleinir Squadron, carried out bionid liquidation operations on Andor. Utilising painstakingly acquired scientific data on the bionid hive mass, the combined fleet engaged in targeted thermonuclear bombardment of the hive mass resulting in the apparent destruction of the entity that has consumed the colony world of Andor over the past three years.
Radiation levels on the former colony world currently inhibit further study of the results of the bombardment, though all key indicators suggest the hive mass has been effectively and successfully eliminated. SNG and SILK representatives note that no spores were tracked leaving the planet’s orbit and that no attempt by the mass to reach orbit was recorded.
Citizens of Y5, Monokoke and other neighbouring systems rejoiced at the news. Monokoke has been under full evacuation orders with local citizens from the colony, and colonists from Y5, having found new temporary homes on Usagi within the Solas na Gealaí. Speaking to GNN, refugees on Usagi have shared their response to the news: “I can’t believe it, we can finally return home, what a relief”, “I thought we were going to lose everything, we can’t thank the people of Usagi enough for taking us in when we needed it most”. Two years ago over 400,000 refugees fled for the safety of the SNG, though more than 50,000 have alread decided to take the opportunity to permanently resettle on Usagi, many now expect to return to their homes at long last.

TRADE DISRUPTED BY SANCTIONS AND ASSET SEIZURE
With tensions mounting and diplomatic fallout spilling over into changes postures and policy, GNN reports that SILK have enacted sanctions on the Alarian Star Empire and United Terran Federation. The sanctions, SILK’s Contact Department state, will limit regular trade and involves the immediate suspension of the Alarian Star Empire/SILK Mutual Benefit and Voluntary Relocation Treaty.
SILK announce such measures are being taken in response to Skaro Pact actions involving attempted annexation and vassalisation of the sovereign state of the LGR, that the sector is “at an inflection point” and the “international community cannot allow international norms to regress to the law of the jungle”. SILK state these actions will remain in force until Skaro forces withdraw from LGR territory and Riker II.
Meanwhile, the Seekers Commonwealth has issued a general directive ordering all Seeker-affiliated vessels and traders within Cerean territory in Sector 5 to leave immediately. In a significant escalation of diplomatic tension, the Seekers Commonwealth have seized large quantities of trade goods, assets and state-owned vessels belonging to the Cerean Planetary Alliance throughout SKC space. In addition, CPA citizens have been offered the opportunity to relinquish their citizenship of the CPA and defect to the Commonwealth. Private CPA enterprises and vessels have been instructed to leave SKC territory, with heavy fines levied on those failing to do so, with the further threat of seizure of privately-held assets.

SEEKERS DENOUNCE CEREAN PLANETARY ALLIANCE
The Seekers Commonwealth Sector 005 Colonial Office have filed an official diplomatic complaint with the Cerean Planetary Alliance, requesting the removal of Admiral Granyt and Grand Admiral Oremaster from their official posts, over their alleged conduct during the Skirmish of Reason last cycle. The Commonwealth requests international parties to review the record and weigh future undertakings with the CPA accordingly, GNN notes. Readers can find the SKC report here.
The Seekers Commonwealth have held a series of press conferences and official interviews with key witnesses to the events over Reason, whilst also televising interviews with family members of naval personnel lost during the engagement on Reason. The Seekers Commonwealth highlight the peacekeeping goals of their fleet and their attempt to prevent the ‘massacre of the civilian population’ by the Terran Federation. The SKC Colonial Office holds CPA Admiral Granyt directly responsible for deceiving the SKC before turning coat and firing upon their own peacekeeping ally.
Hosting a press event on Sirx Soter, SKC officials made public the findings of their investigations of the Venta bombardment site, and have invited third parties to visit the site and independently review the findings. The findings, SKC asset, contradict all previous assertions by the CPA, which the SKC claim is a ‘blatant lie’. SKC officials argue whether the CPA leadership should ever be trusted, given their conduct on Venta and Reason.
Chairperson Perat of the Northern Democratic Colonial Authority has welcomed the release. She noted that it answers the NDCA’s demand last year for information pertaining the site and looks forward to further joint working on this issue.

SECTOR PRESIDENT TANG TO FACE ASSOCIATION COUNCIL
Madeleine Varn, Planetary Governor of Force Six has called for an emergency session of the S5 Sector Association Council following the attack on the Alarian Star Empire. With war now raging across the sector, popular unrest at home and economic recession gripping key AFCO holdings, experts say Tang is expected to come under intense scrutiny and should expect a leadership challenge.
Terrence Payne, Planetary Governor of Warden colony, spoke out against the Sector President’s attack on Gloriana, saying ‘the Sector President’s actions now threaten peace and stability at home and abroad’. Whilst the strikes previously gridlocking the AFCO economy have now abated following agreements with labour leaders, anti-war protests have now taken their place demanding a peace with foreign powers and an end to the ‘imperialist war’, remarked sources close to the AFCO government.

LGR HOLONETS GRIPPED BY SOCIAL DEBATES OVER FUTURE OF THE REPUBLIQUE
As Alarian soldiers surrender on the LGR colony of Amity Station and their capital reels from devastating attacks by the Terran Federation, Grande Republique citizens have taken to their local holonets to debate the future of their fledgling state.
The viral debates have taken on a life of their own this cycle with citizens questioning the sovereignty of the state and the capability of their leaders amidst the crisis, following two rejected rounds of negotiations with the Skaro Pact. While yet more have rallied in defence of the Republique and republican virtue, to face down accusations of the LGR as a pawn of larger more powerful states. Government sponsored messaging calls on every citizen to play a role in the defence of the state and the revolution, highlighting the shocking capture of Robospierre.33X by the ‘forces of fascism’, GNN reports.
LGR Consul DanTron recorded a televised holobroadcast from an undisclosed location saying ‘every day bought by our shared sacrifice, by the tragic sacrifice borne by Amity Station, Unison, Assembly, Reason and the men and women of the fleet, is another day closer to freedom, not only for our republic, but for Sector 5 as a whole!’. Meanwhile, Glimmer posts circle on rumours and hopes of a new unifying figure who might yet emerge from the conflict.

POLITICAL SITUATION ON RIKER II DETERIORIATES
Local Rikerian leaders, including a number of formerly loyal military officers who refused to follow Grand Marshal Loseer’s last defence of Beard, have now reinforced the recently established Riker Provisional Authority (RPA), broadcasting appeals for calm and attempting to pull surviving elements of the old Rikerian imperial elite into a single administrative spine. Supported by the neighbouring Algeron Republic, an LGR-aligned Riker Republican Army (RRA) insurgency has developed and has escalated its recent attacks to strike openly on RPA security compounds and patrol convoys in the capital city of Beard. Civilian casualties and sectarianism sentiments are growing in the once unified capital city.
The Rikerian Republic Triumvirate (RRT) formally established as a government in exile earlier this year, has continued to issue threatening communiques bearing the seals of RRT leaders Babooth, Hooch and Rewbell, claiming to receive ever greater numbers of volunteers and resources to commit to the struggle with the RPA. The Algeron Republic, hosting the RRT, has integrated former LGR advisors and officers into its limited military apparatus and has erected defensive cordons near their capital city of Imzadi. LGR Commander Wun Punch is rumoured to be coordinating local Algeron defence forces, with RPA sources warning of an impending renewal of hostilities by Algeron in an effort to consolidate their earlier Rikerian territorial gains. Independent analysts have suggested Algeron could move to seize the valuable red matter processing facilities and deunerium mines of the Ataklan Plateau.
Since the turmoil of recent years, the two colonies have lost considerable population, wealth and resources, with hundreds of thousands fleeing the fighting and the collapsing political situation for greener and safer pastures elsewhere. RPA Acting Governor Riza Tahari has called on the international community to provide humanitarian support and aid in the rebuilding of the Rikerian state. In recent months the former imperial general has notably softened her earlier tone, reframing the RPA as the only possibility for stability on Riker II.

VISVANIVASAH WARSHIPS SIGHTED OVER SKARO COLONY
GNN can report the VC White Star Fleet has been sighted orbiting Skaro Colony in defiance of the Alarian Star Empire’s strict quarantine of the ancient relic world. The fleet has been observed deploying a range of shuttles and landing dropships to the surface. Stay tuned for more information.

PACT MEMBERS CALL FOR CREATION OF NEW INTERSTELLAR CRIMINAL COURT IN RESPONSE TO AMITY ATROCITY
Member worlds of the Proximan-led PACT met for an emergency session of the PACT Council this month, with representation from all major PACT signatory states, including The Proxima Federal Republic, the Dyrektoriat Kosmiczny, Outer Rim Alliance, Alianza de la Aurora Roja, Fel-Tek Trade Federation, Union of Prax, Queeg Heptarchy and the New Star Coalition.
Qaliph Hawiya Gentlos IV, Uzzayad Member for Melissé and Queeg Ambassador to the PACT Council, summarised the session and the unanimous vote, to call for the creation of a new interstellar criminal court, following the atrocity on Amity Station. Members of the PACT spoke out against the Alarian Star Empire and their actions in Sector 005, arguing the actions of the Sector 005 ASE colonial government constitute a war crime, which must be investigated and those responsible to face justice, the full extent of the currently-limited interstellar law.
The PACT Council also called for the end of hostilities between the Skaro Pact and the LGR and to limit the potential for this grave situation to extend further. Untar Fentzeen, Lord President of the Union of Prax, personally thanked the Proxima Federal Republic’s colonial officials in Sector 005 for their restraint and diplomatic leadership during this difficult period.
NEWS IN BRIEF
GENERAL KRASTUS OF THE ASHBORN LEGION ISSUES STAND DOWN ORDER TO GROUND FORCES ON AMITY STATION COLONY
Brigadier General Krastus of the Ashborn Legion has issued a stand down order to Alarian ground forces on Amity Station and have put themselves under the authority of the local LGR planetary governor. Visvanivash naval vessels providing critical humanitarian relief to the crisis stricken colony dispatched supplies to the cut off Alarian forces. Local civilian authorities in contact with the Alarian units reported strange behaviours witnessed in the Alarian encampments, from raucous singing to soldiers and logistics troops lying in fields and forests seemingly meditating and undertaking various ritual-like acts.
VERTINIAN FORCES PRACTICE FOR FUTURE BIONID OPERATIONS
Vertinian naval forces in Sector 005 deployed for Operation Bug Hunt over Aethialis this month, refining their methods for combatting Bionid space-borne hive fleet biomass. Vertinian officials stated that “while Vertinia works to defend and protect the rights of living things across the galaxy, recent events and the suffering caused by this particular species has taught the Vertinian people to remain vigilant in defence of the common good.”
